A GROUP OF FOUR AUSTRIAN PAINTED ENAMEL SILVER AND METAL WARES, LATE 19TH/ EARLY 20TH CENTURY, comprising a small circular dish stand centering a conforming raised well detailing a classical maiden shepherdess sewing a laurel wreath diadem, while seated beneath a shade tree before her two companion lambs, within a silver border framed by shaped cartouches of nicely detailed mythological scenes, alternating a deep burgundy ground with elegant gilt scrolling foliage enclosed by a silver rim, stamped twice, "A" and "LP," diameter: 6"; matched with a miniature compressed heart shape vase, centering classically robed amorous couples in verdant landscapes on a circular socle with a reticulated leaf bronze collar above mythological deities conversing beneath shade trees in a landscape, surmounted by a similarly detailed conical neck with a matching bronze collar and bronze mounted flaring rim, enclosing interior maiden masks amongst scrolling vine and foliage, height: 4 3/8"; a cobalt ground ruffled handkerchief vide poche, centering a rectangular panel portraying a fairy child seated on a large leaf amidst blossoming foliage, illegible gilt signature, "L. M...," within an undulating ruffle border enclosing scattered gilt blooms, height: 1 1/4", width: 5", depth: 5"; together with a tripod gilt metal mounted jeweled and painted enamel condiments stand, with three grape leaf and vine entwined branch stems ending in ball feet, surmounted by a circle and ball handle alternating three suspension hooks, above a colorfully enameled dish with a roundel illustrating a peasant boy frolicking with a stringed ball and stick, amidst an ethereal garden enclosed by a broad cobalt blue border having jeweled and gilt foliate details, trimmed in gilt metal beading, possibly French, height: 6 1/2". NOTE: The silver rimmed dish has paired hallmarks stamped twice, "A" is for Vienna approximately 1866, next to the silversmith's hallmark "LP" which is possibly that of the Lazar Pollak active from 1861-1871.

  • Condition: The dish has expected tarnish and some tiny dings as well as minor marks and scratches from wear. The enameled areas have normal tiny surface scratches from wear and chips on the edge of the border, as well as surface buildup. Light crazing throughout. The vase has similar wear and the rim slightly bent. The vide poche has some faint crazing, gilding worn throughout, normal wear. Condiments stands is lacking a few "jewels", gilding is worn and discolored in small areas throughout, gilt beaded rim has small old crack, as well as surface buildup in crevices. Normal wear.
