A NINE PIECE FISH PAINTED PORCELAIN SET, BY THEODORE HAVILAND, LIMOGES, FRENCH, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, comprising eight luncheon plates, diameter: 9", one matching elliptical form serving platter, length: 23 3/4", depth: 9 3/4", each with a waved and beaded gilt rim trimmed in shaped green highlights enclosing a border of nicely detailed gilt floral clusters alternating stylized florets, centering various species of fish jumping amidst still waters with various native marine animals and vegetation, hand painted in naturalistic colors and signed by artist "L. Martin," verso overglaze red stenciled "Théodore Haviland Limoges FRANCE."   

    Condition:
  • Good condition for French porcelain of this age and use including but not limited to light gilding wear and expected small utensil scratches.
