Payment and Shipping Information

Making payment

Your invoice will include a link to make payment by credit card.

To pay by check, cash, or wire please contact our accounting department directly at (713) 524-6751.

In-person bidders may make payments during or immediately following the auction.

If you are the highest bidder for a lot, you will receive an invoice by email the Monday following the auction.

Payments are due within 5 days after the auction.

All payments for jewelry and watches must be made by wire transfer. No other forms of payment will be accepted.

Buyer’s Premium

The Buyer’s Premium is a fee collected by the auction house as a percentage of the winning hammer price recorded during the auction. The Buyer’s Premium is added (along with Sales Tax if applicable) to your invoice.

Bidding directly with Simpson Galleries (in person, on the telephone, or through a written absentee form) enjoys a favorable buyer’s premium of 22%.

Resale Certificate

Sales tax is collected on all purchases received from the gallery, delivered to a Texas address, and/or as required by law unless we have a valid Resale Certificate on file.

Collecting Your Purchase

Pick-up from Simpson Galleries

We are open for pickup Monday through Thursday, from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. Shippers are requested to schedule pickups 24 hours in advance. Weekend and after-hours arrangements can sometimes be accommodated. We ask that you collect your items or make collection arrangements within 10 days of your purchase.

Shipping

Simpson Galleries does not provide outgoing shipping, insurance, or delivery services. We suggest that you obtain a shipping/delivery quote prior to bidding. Shipping Release – Upon choosing your shipping agent, please fill out the Shipping Release Form and return it to Simpson Galleries. The shipper will coordinate the pick-up of your lots directly with us, but we require the Shipping Release Form in order to release your winnings to your shipper.

Insurance and Damage/Loss Liability: Insurance liability falls to the shipper as soon as a lot is received by the shipper. Simpson Galleries is not responsible for damage or loss to any lots once they have been signed for and received by your shipping agent.
