A CHINESE UNDERGLAZE PAINTED CELADON PLANTER, LATE QING DYNASTY (1644-1912), the flat, everted rim with hand painted white, mauve and blue flowers dotting vibrant green foliate, over four bowed, tapered, square sides with like flowering foliate in landscape, raised on winged, splayed feet. Height: 9 1/2" Width: 10 7/8" Depth: 10 7/8" Provenance: Collection of Captain John Melmoth Dow.

  • Condition: Some soil on interior from use, mild kiln bursts, one small firing crack on base bottom, occasional mild chips to glaze near feet, but otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
