A GEORGE III MAHOGANY FRETWORK HANGING SHELF, CIRCA 1765, in the manner of Thomas Chippendale (English 1718-1779), the molded cornice above an arrangement of four shelves with pierce carved interlace side panels and a row of two short drawers. NOTE: The present shelves appear based on Chippendale's designs published in "The Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker's Director," 1754, plate CXII. Provenance: Estate of the Late James K. Schooler, Esq.
