A HISTORICAL MEXICAN DOCUMENT, AUGUST 27, 1866, A HANDWRITTEN LETTER FROM MAXIMILIAN I (1832-1867) EMPEROR OF MEXICO, ink on watermarked paper, a communication to the Minister of Haciendas regarding pension disputes for the family of D. Luis Velazco Quiros in Montepio, Veracruz, where an agreement is established that with permission the family could maintain discounts otherwise not available, signed, No. 215 verso. Height: 10 5/8" Width: 8 3/8" NOTE: Probably referring to a decree regarding changes to the pensions and ownership of homes and land of civil servants in Montepio from August 23, 1866. See "Haciendo y Credito Publica," articles 2800-2802, published September 16, 1870.

Condition:
Some mild toning is noted throughout, original creasing, areas with small holes noted mostly at left, some pencil and blue crayon in upper right corner and at back. A faint seal stamp is noted at back, otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age.
