A JAPANESE IMARI POLYCHROME ENAMELED PORCELAIN CHARGER, LATE EDO PERIOD/EARLY MEIJI PERIOD, CIRCA 1860'S, of circular form and painted in a traditional palette, centering a rectangular textile panel form reserve with curled end, flanked by a phoenix bird flying amidst scrolling clouds above an ancient blossoming tree and a stylized landscape before a distant pavilion structure within diapered lambrequin trim, between arched iron red panels enclosing a long sinuous tailed roaring dragon, amongst gilt highlighted scrolled clouds and partially concealed by half circular petal rimmed reserves of ribbon tied Buddhistic symbols.
