A LARGE JAPANESE IMARI PORCELAIN CHARGER, MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912), enameled in traditional colors and gilt details throughout, with central roundel reserve of two opposing sinuous beasts on green ground chrysanthemum blooms, flanking a scrolling pearl, within a six point stylized diapered star enclosing mons of gilt phoenix, partitioned by fan shaped panels with butterfly and iris foliage alternating chrysanthemum and various blossoming stems amongst stylized scrolling leaves and diapered arches details. Diameter: 18"
- Condition: Good condition, some light surface scratches, normal gilding wear in areas, some underglaze blue spotting outside of line, some overglaze enameled kiln flaws.
