A LARGE JAPANESE PARCEL GILT AND HAND PAINTED POLYCHROME ENAMEL SATSUMA PORCELAIN CHARGER, SIGNED, LATE MEIJI PERIOD, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, an inverted scalloped rim emphasized with flower heads on a solid gilt ground alternating a complimentary tendril designs, the exceptionally detailed central imagery exhibiting ducks swimming, bathing, and resting lakeside amidst a flowering prunus and cherry blossom tree set in a tranquil atmosphere of distant mountains and a quiet rural village nearby, moriage detail throughout, under a black painted calligraphy character inscription, reversing to the underside with character inscription possibly naming the artist "Tashiro Zo" (Made by Tashiro).
