A LOUIS XVI STYLE CARVED BEECH CANE BACK BERGÈRE MARQUIS ARMCHAIR, PROBABLY FRENCH, LAST HALF 19TH CENTURY, the molded crest rail over a gondola style back, upholstered in burnt sienna faux leather upholstery at front and caned verso, within two padded arm rests ending in scrolled terminals on stop fluted carved supports, flanking a bowed seat with a molded apron, on turned tapered fluted legs ending in pads. Condition:
There is mild separation of some joints, some mild chips to the caring intermittently throughout, some expected surface scratches, scuffs, dents and wear; the heaviest wear and losses near the feet, and there is a crack to the wood at one hand rest. The back caning has some mild damage near the top center, but otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
