porcelain tableware decorated with a Chinese inspired tobacco leaf pattern, each marked on base, "Mottahedeh VISTA ALEGRE 1824 PORTUGAL / METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART / REPRODUCTION OF THE TOBACCO LEAF PATTERN COMMONLY FOUND ON CHINA TRADE PORCELAIN IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XVIII CENTURY." Set is comprised of fourteen dinner plates, thirteen dessert plates, thirteen bread and butter plates, fourteen saucers, thirteen cups, eleven rimmed soup bowls, two octagonal serving platters, chop plate, three serving bowls, trivet, monteith cache pot, trumpet vase, shell dish, salt cellar, teapot, coffee pot, creamer, sugar, and a small cachepot. The lot also includes a hand painted ginger jar and a vase by a different maker in the same tobacco leaf pattern. (96)

Condition:
Sugar is missing its lid. The lid to the coffee pot was previously broken and repaired and signs of the repair are visible. One dinner plate, one salad plate, and one saucer are chipped. Some minor wear to the decorated surface is visible upon close inspection, commensurate with age and use.
