A PAIR OF ITALIAN ROCOCO REVIVAL POLYCHROME PAINTED YELLOW GROUND SIDE CHAIRS, POSSIBLY VENETIAN, 19TH CENTURY, each with a double yolk form crest rail centering a contoured neck rest with trailing floral details, above a reticulated vasiform splat of "C" scrolls and blossoming stems flanked by stylized trellis on rectangular stiles and continuing flowering branch decoration, on a trapezoidal seat with polychrome Scalamandre budding foliate upholstery over a similarly painted serpentine seat rail and cabriole legs ending in trefid feet, joined by an undulating "H" form stretcher. Height: 41 3/8" Width: 19 1/2" Depth: 16 1/4"
- Condition: Good condition for items of this age, use, and materials, with normal restorations throughout, age cracks, fabric later, gilding refreshed, surface buildup, craqueleur in areas, formerly caned, some flaking and wear of floral painting.
