A PAIR OF LOUIS XV STYLE ORMOLU MOUNTED PAINTED AND INLAID AFROMOSIA BOMBÉ PLANT PEDESTALS, 20TH CENTURY, SPAIN, in the vernis martin fashion, the square serpentine figured peach marble tops over four bombé sides, each painted with picturesque landscapes, one signed A. Rosos, within ormolu mounted borders and crotched sides, flanked by foliate ormolu mounted serpentine stiles and splayed legs on scrolled ormolu feet, centering a serpentine skirt with a floral rocaille ormolu mount. Condition:
One marble top has a chip near the corner, and one ormolu mount has a small apparent repair with evidence of glue residue. One painted panel has some inpainting and some apparent repairs. There are some mild expected scratches to the painted panels with minor paint loss. A very light white colored paint spray and possible finger smudge is noted to one pedestal, otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
