A SET OF TWO BELLE ÉPOQUE ORMOLU MOUNTED ROSEWOOD LOUIS XV STYLE SALON CHAIRS, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, FRANCE, comprising a fauteuil and side chair, the ormolu ribbon crested oval medallion backs on serpentine scrolled supports over bowed seats, now upholstered in iron red and gold foliate tapestry style fabric with gold gimp trim; the fauteuil with bowed arms and like upholstered armrests continuing down to ormolu mounted outswept terminals, all on cabriole legs with ormolu mounted knees and feet ending in front brass casters joined by sweeping arched skirts with an ormolu floral festoon mount, height: 38", width: 25", depth: 21". Condition:
Both chairs have expected mild surface scratches, dents, and wear, the seats having some pulls to the weave with general wear to the upholstery. The side chair has an old apparent professional repair near the base of the oval back with some evidence of glue residue and later added dowel supports, otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
