A SÈVRES STYLE PARCEL GILT METAL MOUNTED POLYCHROME COMPOTE, 19TH CENTURY, the dished bowl centering a round medallion painted with a bucolic country scene of courting youth, while baby cupid presents flowers, within a blue ground border painted with three vignettes of colorful flower sprays and scrolling gilt painted tendrils within a floral encrusted gilt metal mounted edge, flanked by scrolling handles, joined to a cabochon relief base on foliate shell legs joined by leafy grape vine garlands. Condition:
There is some rubbing to the gilt decoration and mild wear to the paint decoration, but other than some dust debris in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
