A SMALL CHINESE CELADON GLAZED SCHOLAR'S TABLE SCREEN, POSSIBLY MING DYNASTY (1326-1664), of rectangular form and centering a standing figure of Buddha or an Immortal with unglazed head and wearing traditional robes in deep relief, before a solid blank screen enclosed by two reticulated cartouches within graduated scrolling supports and surmounted by a shallow relief frieze of three panels with crossed line good luck symbols flanking a shaped oval cartouche, raised on a conforming plinth incorporating block feet, reversing to a blank panel with two cylindrical taper stick or incense stick containers.
