A VICTORIAN SATINWOOD INLAID ROSEWOOD MANTLE CLOCK, CIRCA 1870-1880, rectangular with foliate scroll inlaid satinwood and satinwood stringing, raised on curved cornered base with satinwood leaf decoration below ebonized wood molding, fitted with circular enamel faced clock with gilt bronze egg and dart and beaded borders, the dial painted in black with Arabic numerals and swags, the top with glazed opening and cast brass bail handle, "59," "44" stamped to movement. Height: 10 7/8" Width: 6 3/8" Depth: 5 1/4" Provenance: Estate of the late Charles A. and Betti F. Saunders, Houston, Texas.
