AN AMERICAN STERLING SILVER MOUNTED CUT CRYSTAL EWER, BY WHITING MANUFACTURING COMPANY, RETAILED BY WILLIAM WISE & SON, STAMPED MARKS AND NUMBERS, CIRCA 1896, with a flaring circular rim and everted spout above four letter engraved monogram, over an ornate repoussé band of blossoming "C" scrolls and leafy branches, stamped with profile armorial lion and "STERLING / PAT 96," "WM WISE & SON," on a flaring body enclosing vertical paired lines of reed and lozenges alternating serrated cut lines, with a scalloped loop form handle over an underside centering a large stylized star. Height: 13 5/8" Diameter: 6"
