AN ANTIQUE CARVED STRIPED PINE WARDROBE, TEXAS, CIRCA 1870, the arched pediment flanked by stylized scrolling bracket form details and centering an applied conforming panel, above a tapering rectangular cornice and plain frieze, over two recessed panel doors with molded trim on a flat base, raised on shaped block feet. Height: 96" Width: 64 5/8" Depth: 24 1/4" Provenance: Purchased by the family of the present owner at an open air antique sale, similar to those held at Round Rock, Texas, and kept at their Texas ranch.
- Condition: Good condition, professionally restored, some normal light surface marks and scratches. Central panel between the two doors later mounted on the right door, interior shelving modified. Dovetail, tongue in groove and old nail construction, with chamfered panels front, back, and interior. Simpson Galleries strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
