AN ART DECO INLAID WALNUT BOOK TABLE, CIRCA 1910-1930, PROBABLY ENGLISH, the octagonal quarter matched butterfly figured walnut top within string inlaid bands and a molded edge, over six shallow shelves and two deep shelves, flanked by canted book matched figured walnut inlaid stiles with chevron string inlay, the molded base on eight tapered ball feet. Condition:
The top has minor surface scratches with one notable cluster of scratches near the center and some crazing noted throughout the finish on the top. There are some humidity cracks on the molded edge. A mild lightening of the wood on one half of the piece due to possible minor sun exposure. There are some mild chips to the veneer on the shelf edges, and some expected scuff wear on the feet, otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
