TWO CHINESE JADE PLAQUE MOUNTED ENGRAVED METAL BOXES, THE BOXES 20TH CENTURY, THE JADE PLAQUES OLDER, one of elongated oval shape with a hinged and clasp locked lid centering a domed and reticulated translucent pale celadon jade plaque of a qilon writhing on a bed of blossoming vinery, above conforming gilt sides engraved with qilons amidst flowering foliage, over an underside stamped, "CHINA," height: 2", length: 3 3/8", depth: 1 5/8"; one of oval shape with a hinged lid centering a translucent white jade plaque of a young girl sitting in a tree trunk boat paddling down a river stream beneath the branches of an ancient pine and stylized foliage covered hills in the foreground, opening to a nicely engraved interior lid of a butterfly fluttering above flowering chrysanthemum stems, within exterior sides engraved with leafy floral details, height: 1 1/8", length: 2 7/8", depth: 2 1/2".
