A PAIR OF GOTHIC REVIVAL PARCEL GILT AND POLYCHROME PAINTED DARK RED GROUND VASES, PROBABLY FRENCH, MID 19TH CENTURY, each of tapering circular form and sides centering shaped reserves of figures in medieval attire on a gilt ground within stylized gilt stenciled foliage and reversing to gilt scrolling foliate details, beneath a shoulder trimmed in triple leaf decoration enclosing a short neck and dish form mouth with flaring rim, raised on a similarly decorated conforming foot. Height: 13 1/2" Diameter: 6 1/4"
