A PAIR OF RENAISSANCE REVIVAL CARVED OAK CANE SEAT HALL CHAIRS, PROBABLY BRITTANY, CIRCA 1900, in the Italian taste, the crest rails centering a bead carved disc within adorsed foliate, tapered, fluted supports, and scrolled flower bloom carved ends, over arched horizontal splats centering circular portrait medallions over adorsed scrolling foliate relief dragons within lappet and medallion carved stiles, above square inset cane seats over stylized guilloché and bead carved skirts with applied floret and green man mask corner blocks, all on a roundel and lappet carved curule base jointed by a turned, tapered, fluted, and foliate carved "H" form stretcher. There are some wood fill repairs at the bases and to the back stiles of one chair, otherwise in good, table condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
